HIPAA - Health Insurance Probability and Accountability Act
HIPAA- is an American legislation that establishes a uniform form for managing, storing, transferring and preventing the leakage of digital medical information to unauthorized parties.
The main purpose of HIPAA is to maintain the privacy of patients' vacations while allowing the use of technologies to improve the quality and requests of medical care.
HIPAA includes a model for the protection of medical information and any action related to this information, and states that every person is entitled to complete privacy in medical matters.
This is not about the HIPAA standard, but rather about connecting the bottom of a series of specialty standards in regards to detailed medical data.
Who does the regulation apply to?
The HIPAA regulation applies to entities in the healthcare field, such as: healthcare service providers, collection service providers and medical information system service providers.
In fact, every Israeli company that provides services to the American medical market is obliged to comply with the regulatory requirement.
The regulation is flexible and expandable, so that all organizations and medical institutions can implement policies, procedures and technologies appropriate to the size and organizational structure.
